Lack of Alcohol Help Causes Alcohol Recovery to Fail

Finally, it’s Friday! Time to hit the bars with your co-workers to celebrate surviving another week. After a couple of hours it’s time to go to the bar with your buddies, hang out and knock back a few. Tomorrow’s Saturday and you have a big day planned to go fishing with the guys, of course this really means dropping a line in the water, kicking back, drinking a “little” and trying to get over how much your wife has been giving you a headache about the trash. Next up is Sunday, football, BBQ and of course more beer. It stops there, right? No need to even think about addiction treatment, right?

Unfortunately, Monday rolls around, it was a bad day and you can’t wait to get back home, pull out a beer and try to get past it; Tuesday’s not much better. Wednesday’s here, finally you’ve made it to hump day, that means it’s time to celebrate, go hit the bar, loose track of time, crawl into bed far later than you planned only to wake up 3 hours later with a massive hangover. You have that presentation due today, you can’t go in to the office like this, so take some hair of the dog that bit you and hide a little clear stuff in your water bottle and you head in. The presentation was a success, your bosses obviously didn’t realize anything, that means it’s time to celebrate; granted, it’s only lunch time and you can’t get too wasted, but you can really party tonight, besides once you make it through tomorrow, it’s the weekend and you can finally relax from a job well done. We can see you need alcohol help at this point, but you’re definitely too proud and too knowledgeable to think that you have a problem and it’s not like anyone’s said anything about the amount you drink, so you’re still safe, right?

Now, lets fast forward a year – You’re wife is long gone, you don’t really remember why she left, only that she took everything and now your stuck in some run down apartment. It didn’t help that your boss saw you drinking at the restaurant that one day and fired you right afterwards. He was a jerk anyways and you know he was drinking during on the clock. That doesn’t matter now since you managed to get a job renting videos and your new manager (the pimply faced kid who’s still in high school) doesn’t seem to care if you drink on the job as long as you keep buying him beer too. Of course, beer just hasn’t cut it for you lately, you’ve grown up to drinking nothing but the hard liquors; yeah they’re more expensive, but they get the job done and it’s not like you had anything else to spend that money on.  At this point, addiction treatment is a requirement, but you’re still alive and that’s all that matters.

While we could continue to watch the degradation of this man’s life, wouldn’t it be nicer to see him pull his life together again? He gets help by checking himself into an alcohol rehab center, stops drinking, works things out with his ex-wife and finally begins to work his way back up the corporate ladder. There’s just one problem: he doesn’t know he has a problem; he doesn’t know he’s an alcoholic. Many adults today fail to realize how bad their drinking addiction really is. They build a life around alcohol abuse, claiming it to be the one thing that keeps them from destroying their lives, when, in reality, it becomes the tool they use to completely self-destruct. Alcohol recovery is already a difficult road to recovery, but without the support of family and friends, and without the understanding of what alcoholism is, it could very well be an impossible task to complete. It’s just too bad you didn’t receive the alcohol help you needed in the beginning…right?

Alcohol Abuse in the Family

It’s become overwhelming, the number of alcohol and drug treatment centers in the world today. A simple search for drug rehab returns over three million different website on all of the major search engines. Add to this the number of times you’ve read about some celebrity going into a rehab center, only to come out and do the exact same things, not just once, but five or six times in a row. Is it any wonder that people think rehabilitation centers would be useless or even worse, a “miracle cure” scheme?

With all of these bad choices, how can the people who need serious help find that diamond in the rough? Any center on addiction and substance abuse can bring you in and clean you up, but unless they work with you to help you find a new method of support and a way to avoid the addictions, relapse is imminent. There is also the requirement of getting family and friends involved. Without the emotional support from the people you love, there is no hope of staying clean. Narconon Vista Bay does all of this and more.

For many people, by the time they’ve realized they need alcohol detox or drug addiction help, it’s at the end of a court order. While this is an effective way to tell people they need to deal with their substance abuse problems, it’s never the preferred method. If you are lucky enough to realize you need help (or more likely you realize a family member needs help) before an arrest is made, Narconon Vista Bay provides a licensed counselor to mediate an intervention to bring about the best possible solutions. If you were told by the state that you have a problem and you’re required to seek help, Narconon Vista Bay will make arrangements so that you can get to court hearings and will assist in some of the other requirements set forth by the judge.

Narconon Vista Bay doesn’t stop there when helping patients, or students as they are more commonly referred, through addiction rehab. They make sure that the student receives all the help they need, allowing them to continue through the course until they are completely recovered, regardless if it takes three months or six months. More important than this, they use a drug-free method when helping their students through drug rehab. This method not only provides a clean method for detoxifying their body, but also helps to mentally reinforce the message that drugs are a negative influence and should not be used even for stepping down in substance abuse. With the right rehabilitation center using the right methods, there is no longer a reason to avoid getting the help you need, whether for yourself or someone you love.
